To get to Playa del Carmen
Either fly to Cancun airport and take a taxi to Playa (or rent a car), or fly to Cozumel and take the ferry (40 minutes) directly to Playa del Carmen. Flights to Cancun and Cozumel are relatively similiar in price.
The airport in Cozumel is about 10 mintues away from the docks where you take the ferry. A taxi costs about $3 or $4 and is convenient. The ferry costs $8 to $15 depending how which boat you take. Some boats are faster than others.
