The architect of Hotel Lunata is very detail oriented and only takes one job at a time. Guests staying at Hotel Lunata will appreciate the fruits of his labor when they see that in every room or hallway, surprising beauty awaits.

From the arbor's shade on the ocean view rooftop deck to the 4th floor garden terrace, gracious special touches abound. Some modern, like the cutaway wall open to the ocean. Others are inspired by Colonial Mexico's grand haciendas, as in the metal and brick work or the hardwood ceiling beams.

Yaxche Maya Restaurant has recently been remodeled and expanded. The kitchen has doubled in size and is open so you can see our chefs at work. Outside, our new garden dining area is a wonderful place for a quiet lunch or romantic dinner. The fountains, frescos and facade echo work at the Tulum ruins. Come for lunch or dinner, or have an agua de chaya at the new bar.
The chef's modifications to tradition have created an upscale Maya cuisine, more accessible to the European and American palates. The meat is less fatty than that used in authentic Maya cooking and some imported ingredients are used to accent the traditional Maya flavors. However, authentic Maya condiments and spices and locally grown produce are always used. The main diet of the Maya is vegetarian, so you will find dozens of vegetarian dishes on our menu. We invite you to dine at Yaxche Maya Restaurant and experience Maya cuisine when you are in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Hotel Lunata is ideally situated for the visitor to Mexico's Caribbean coast. The hotel is on Playa del Carmen's main pedestrian walk, 5th Avenue, between 6th and 8th Streets. Boutique Mango is downstairs selling upscale resort wear and some of Playa del Carmen's nicest sidewalk cafes and restaurants are in the same block of 5th Avenue.
Playa del Carmen's famous white sand beach is just one block away for you to enjoy. At Hotel Lunata you have the advantage of staying in the center of Playa del Carmen, without hearing noise from the beach front bars and discos.

Boutique Mango has been operating in Playa del Carmen for 9 years. In fact, the store was the very first women's clothing boutique in town. Focusing on resort wear, Boutique Mango sells Mexican handmade creations as well as beautiful imports. Mango's offers a range of clothing and accessories perfect for sunny Mexico's climate and it is conveniently located downstairs from Hotel Lunata's lobby.
Mango's is the only shop in Playa del Carmen to carry the line of Alejandro Julian Nuñez, a famous Mexico City designer. All his garments are hand embroidered by the huichol native Americans in the Eastern Sierra Madre of Mexico. The modern huichol produces embroidered work based on traditions of craftsmanship passed down through generations. Each piece has its own energy because it combines color, form, and luminosity. The huichol embroideries put before your eyes evidence of creative sensibility that contains a mythic-poetic significance.
